The present
selection has
been featured since 20100521, and is a partial recording of Virinchi
Joglekar learning to sing a gazal. This recording was made in
2009 at his music school in Pune, 'Arun Music Class'.
The first 3 minutes comprise of his teacher Ustad Faiyyaaz Hussein
Khan,
instructing him in singing part of the gazal. Virinchi then renders the
complete gazal.
The words are by the poet Tilakchand Kosar. The words were set to music
by Ustaad Faiyyaaz Hussein Khan himself.
The harmonium accompaniment was provided by Ustaad Faiyyaaz
Hussein Khan. Accompanying on the violin
was his son, Ejaz Hussein.
